Fact: No dog breed has ever been found to be able to lock their jaws.
Fact: No dog breed has ever been found to be able to lock their jaws.
Can you tell a difference? No? Both jaws look the same. Interesting because according to many people, Pit Bulls have locking jaws. The one on the left is a Pit Bull skull. The one of the right is a Labrador retriever skull. Point proven.
Myth: Pit Bulls do not feel pain.
Fact: ALL dogs feel pain, Pit bulls are just better able to tolerate pain. These dogs were first bred to be able to handle pain in order to get the task they were given, done.
Myth: All Pit Bulls are driven to kill people.
Fact: A dogs behavior is influenced by genetics and their environment (i.e. training and treatment) It is the irresponsible owner who creates this "killer dog". They're not born with it.
Myth: All Pit Bulls are aggressive.
Fact: Pit Bulls are no more aggressive than any other dog breed. Even hunting, tracking, guarding and even playing are just modified forms of aggression, all of which are a part of EVERY dog breed. Aggression is an individual trait that varies from dog to dog.
This graph below should explain itself. It shows that beagles, chihuahuas, dachshunds and spaniels are more aggressive than a Pit Bull. Now not all dogs are the same but again it comes back around to how the OWNER raises the dog.
